Portraits of My Life as a Bird

Cristina Guitian's exhibition "Portraits of My Life as a Bird" is showing until the 30th March at the Print House Gallery in London so drop in and take a look!

‘Portraits of My Life as a Bird explores the nature and aesthetics of the hybrid. Throughout history, mythical hybrids such as the chimera were used to describe fantastic yet vulnerable power. Courtesy of rapid advances in genetic manipulation, humanity is now on the verge of holding such power. Liberated from biology and ethical oversight, ‘Portraits of My Life as a Bird’ is a playful imagining of this genetically mutated future.'

Art 4 Haiti

Vicky Newman's Lady Luck screen print is being auctioned for Art4Haiti -a project set up by artist Sarah Larnach (of Ladyhawke album cover fame) and Save the Children and being sold on ebay by Inkygoodness.

So deep and bid high!-in return for your generosity you'll get an awesome piece of artwork and the knowledge all your cash is going to help rebuild the community in Haiti.

Decked 2 is open for submissions

Decked 2 is officially open for submissions from now until 31st January.

Each artist has to hand paint/print/carve etc one individual skatedeck. The subject matter is up to you. These will then be exhibited in the Coningsby Gallery, London for 2 weeks from the 15th-29th August 2010.

The cost per artist is £50 and a 10% commission will be taken on any work sold.

Dan Kitchener and EYESAW live paint!

Some shots from the Becondale Art Party from the weekend which had lots of great work from Decked artists (among others) and included Dan Kitchener and EYESAW live painting on an old transit van and Mr Penfold and VENTZAH painting up an old renault! A great night with some great work all round!
